NEWS RELEASE

Cleveland Basketball School

For immediate release: Sunday, February 12, 2012

Contact: Paul Haught, Founder/President. Cleveland Basketball School. 440-570-6861. E-mail: PaulH89431@aol.com. Website: www.clevelandbasketballschool.com.

From working with boys and girls from the neighborhood to teaching the Belize national team in Central America Paul Haught has taught them all.

Teaching young people the necessary skills to succeed in basketball and life is what Haught, owner of the Cleveland Basketball School, has a passion for.

Haught, a successful coach at the high school, college and AAU levels, began CBS six years ago with two students. Today that number has grown to over 1,500. Kids keep coming back because they learn the fundamentals of the game in a creative and fun atmosphere.

Haught and son Robbie, CBS’s head skills trainer, visited Belize where they shared their knowledge with four national teams in the 15-21 age groups. “We did our entire monthly session in five days at five different locations,” Haught said.

“Coach Paul and Robbie did a fantastic job with our kids while in Belize. One of my jobs is to improve skills throughout the country and what they did was incredible,” Said Bernie Tarr, Belize’s director of basketball, “The players are still taking about how intense, organized and challenging the drills were. They were amazed at Robbie’s ball-handling skills and how hard he worked with them.”

Haughts classes begin each month of the year. They consist of eight, two-hour sessions. “Sessions are designed to build character and respect on and off the court,” Says Haught. CBS teaches individual skills in an on-court setting. From ball handling to shooting to footwork, it is a hands-on approach.

“Coach Paul and Robbie’s enthusiasm was evident to our players, Said Kevin Siroki former Belize national team coach. “What sets CBS apart is they show players they care about their progress through personal attention.”

“With Coach Tarr’s urging we were the first such school to travel to Belize to teach basketball skills, Haught said. “We are going to Bolivia later this year.”

CBS welcomes boys and girls ages 10-18 (6-9 with coach approval). CBS also offers summer camps, small group ball-handling classes and both private and team lessons.

Growing as a basketball player means growing as a person. Haught believes that giving back is important. “At the end of each session we ask players to donate old basketballs, shoes and gear, Says Haught. “We shipped 148 of those items this month to aid the Hoop Dreams Belize project.”

Sessions are held at the Blossom Hill Basketball Facility, 4400 Oakes Road in Brecksville.

Basketball Sports Performance

Hello Everyone!

Last week I had the privilege of seeing some of AGSP's basketball athletes in action, including CVCA's Men's Basketball. As I videotaped the win I was able to catch some of the speed and agility skills we teach.

Below you will see still shots of Bob Peters #34, Alex Punka #22, and Mike Peters #25 displaying some of the skills they worked hard on this past summer. Keep up the great work gentlemen!

All AGSP athletes will see the acceleration, lateral acceleration, maximum velocity, drop-steps and open-up steps, proper shin angles, and full hip extension. If you don't know what I'm talking about then you should come in for your complimentary session and learn how to be a better, faster athlete!
