ATHLETE PERFORMANCE TESTIMONIALS

"You program is Awesome! Nicole has enjoyed doing the Speed and Agility classes over the past couple of years. It has made a huge impact in her performance in the sports that she participates in and builds her excellent self-esteem and work ethics.
In softball, it has increased her speed to run, steal bases, and field balls. It has strengthened her swing to hit. It has built up the muscles in her throwing arm, so that she throws from center-field to home plate with ease and accuracy.
For cross country, it has built her endurance for distant running. In fact, last year after the season was over, she completed her 1st half marathon and under 2 hours. Her goal this year is to run her first full marathon after the cross country season.
She loves the program and can't wait to get back into it when she is out of her sports season. We all appreciate the coaching and teaching that Coach Amanda and her trainers have done to enhance Nicole's abilities, as an athlete and as a person."

“Both of our children have benefited from taking Akron General Sports Performance classes offered by Amanda Kephart and her staff at the Akron General Health & Wellness facility in Stow, Ohio. They were taught the proper techniques and attitudes for working on strength and speed and how they relates to the sports they play: cross country, football, basketball, track and baseball. The results so far are that they are both stronger, faster, more confident and able to work harder than when they began the classes. We are sure that the classes have helped them not only in performance in individual sports, but in injury prevention and in general conditioning for any activity, including schoolwork. Our kids also have developed a better appreciation for exercise, off-season preparation and mental aspects of preparing for and playing sports, including handling all types of results. We think that the classes have also helped them in being good teammates and balanced people with realistic expectations. Coach Amanda and her staff are very good with the kids and they really function as coaches. They work not only the kids’ performances, but in building confidence and on keeping sports in the proper  perspective. Our kids always talk positively about these classes.”

“I think that these classes help a lot in building strength and speed. They helped me become a better athlete, and they are fun to go to. The coaches really show care and concern about how you are doing in your sports. They always have helpful advice on helping you to become better. Going to these classes is something I always look forward to going to, and they have helped me to reach my athletic goals. I would recommend these classes to anyone who wants to improve their performance in sports and also to have something fun to do.”

Colin McNulty - athlete at St. Vincent-St. Mary high school

“These classes helped me to get stronger, and they prevented me from getting injured, which was problem for me early in my high school sports career. The speed part of the class helped correct my running form and technique, which was beneficial for the sports that I participate in: cross country and track. Coach Amanda is good at giving advice about playing sports, working hard, setting goals and enjoying high school. The classes are fun and hard, and I would recommend them to anyone who wants to improve their physical ability.”

"I just wanted to thank you for working with Stu the past couple of months. My only regret is that we did not bring him to you in August. He always looked forward to coming to the workouts. It was never something he did not want to do.

You have had a huge impact on our son and we are grateful. Thanks. We intend on returning Stu back to you in August for further growth and conditioning. Through the years we have spent considerable amounts of money for his baseball teams, showcases, instruction etc. I can tell you that the money we spent for him to condition at Akron General's sport performance has been some of the best money we have ever spent for him."
Chris Schley - father of athlete Stu Schley

"Before I fill you in on some of my small achievements, I just want to thank you for all of your help and guidance in helping me become a better athlete. It has helped me evolve as a collegiate athlete and also a student and individual.
This past weekend, I got my lifetime best times in the 100 fly and 100 free, was only nearly a second slower from my best times in the 100 back and 200 IM and two seconds away from my lifetime best breaststroke time!
In the weight room, almost all of the lifts we do during weight training after practice Monday, Wednesday, and Friday are either the same or very similar to what is done at AGSP. I can't tell you how good it felt to know how to lift the "right" way.
Well Coach Amanda, again I want to thank you for helping me get to where I am today. Coming to AGSP changed my life completely. I am now a faster, stronger, more powerful athlete. :)"
- Kendra Coldy, Division One swimmer at The University of Akron

"We have had Coach Amanda and her staff work with our team for 3 years now. The work out the staff provides for our team is pretty tough but we have seen some great results! The Hudson Football Team takes pride in accomplishing the program and it has not only helped in our team speed but has served as a "team bonding" activity! Many of the techniques Coach Amanda introduces have become a staple in our in-season and out-of -season training. I recommend and appreciate the work Akron-General has done for our program and look forward to years of a continued working relationship."
Tom Narducci
Head Football Coach

"Amanda and the Akron General Staff have been working with our Women's Basketball program at Walsh Jesuit over the past several years. The results have been noticeable and motivating. Coach Amanda's enthusiasm and command of her workout sessions is very impressive. Her unique training techniques challenge the girls to become the best they can be. The student athletes who utilize the program have realized great improvement in the areas of Speed, Flexibility, Strength, and Endurance (both mentally and physically). I would highly recommend Amanda and the Akron General Sports Performance Staff. They will help take your game to the next level!"
Pete Zaccari
Head Womens Basketball Coach

"I wish that every boy in our program would have had the training a few received this spring. It is by far the finest athletic training I have witnessed in over 50 years of coaching. Every high school athlete should check out your program because it equips any athlete to be stronger, more agile, quicker in fundamental movements and faster in locomotive activity. I am a believer and am positive that my players are more confident about succeeding than previous to their training. Your staff is extremely well educated and experienced which earns immediate respect of the athlete being trained. We recommend your programs without reservation and we shall return for the 2010-11 school year."
Joe Denton
Head Golf Coach
Walsh Jesuit High School

"Also wanted to share that Joe is doing wonderfully well in football. His increased speed is apparent to EVERYONE...coaches, teammates and even the other parents. Without pads he is in the top 4 in speed (against boys anywhere from 30-65lbs lighter) and in pads he consistently leads the sprints! He is so very proud. Definitely looking forward to his first scrimmage when he can use his new strength against a competitor. He holds back a little in practice, fearful of hurting a teammate. Every now and then though he lets loose and WOW!"
Melissa Michalowicz, mother of football player, Joe Michalowicz

"First let me start by saying what a pleasure/ honor it has been meeting you and having Joseph in your program. Your mind set, demeanor, and shear knowledge of the body’s muscles and how to train them are a gift, that I as a father of an athlete consider nothing short of Amazing. The proof is in the pudding as we say, and Joseph even thou a gifted athlete before your training, has even surpassed my expectations, not only physically but mentally also. The way you incorporate such complicated drills and lifts for even a 9-10 year old boy to grasp and understand fully, not only shows your passion and knowledge of your expertise but that you are a gifted TEACHER and my son has responded to you without hesitation."
Greg Michalowicz, father of football player, Joe Michalowicz

"I would just like to say thanks for the program that you offer. Courtney has gotten so much out of it and she enjoys coming each week. I just wanted you to know that she was the fastest girl running bases at each travel ball tryout (4) we went to. We were able to have options to choose the best fit for her. They told us at every tryout she was running from home to first base in 2.8-2.9 seconds and just under 12 seconds home to home. This program is definitely the program we were looking for."
Ann Kennedy, mother of softball player, Courtney Kennedy

"I wanted to let you know how great we think your program is. It has surpassed even my wildest expectations. Dan’s goals were to increase his vertical leap and quickness and I can definitely say that we accomplished that mission. What I didn’t realize is the extra benefit that came with that and that is confidence. He has been going to basketball open gym on the days he doesn’t have sports performance and he has taken his game to a whole new level. Dan blows everyone away in the speed and quickness drills and is scoring on guys that used to be able to stop him. His increased quickness along with his confidence in knowing he can beat the defender has made all the difference. I really wanted to say thanks for you and your team’s effort. Daniel really enjoys going and we will miss it now that the season is starting."
Matt Rice, father of basketball & baseball player, Dan Rice
